Has it really been 2 years since Teams vs Star Slinger? That album made me an instant fan of Star Slinger, aka Darren Williams, with his soul samples and funky cuts. That's not to say he hasn't been busy, remixing the likes of Ellie Goulding, Kendrick Lamar and Jessie Ware, to name a few.
Today he released his remix for Miguel's Adorn, and it's just what your next summer bash needs. This guy knows his R&B, taking the smooth out and inserting a 90's vibe with constant, hammering keys. Production is of course top level, with the beat moving side to side on headphones and vocals virtually untouched, but sounding so solid.
Star Slinger will be in town next month, dropping in for a set at the MID, on July 26th. RSVP for free entry before 11:30.
